TRYDIAN INTERACTIVE SUCCESSFULLY PILOTS MULTIMEDIA LITERACY TRAINING PACKAGE
Trydian Interactive is proud to announce the successful piloting of a multimedia literacy training package. The multimedia package was piloted at several rural venues in the Limpopo province, with very good feedback. The package is unique in its mother-tongue multimedia approach: the local languages spoken in Limpopo – Sepedi, Tshivenda, Xitsonga – are used throughout the package as complete alternatives to English. The piloting feedback has clearly showed that this approach contributed to a positive learning experience on multiple levels. Other features of teh package that also received outstanding feedback were: a) the enticing animations and visual elements, b) the warm, reassuring voice-over, and c) the confidence building value of the multimedia approach.
“It was important for our development team to find the golden balance between aspiration and reality in our visual approach,” comments Donrich Jordaan, Trydian’s CEO. “Extensive consultation with people in the target market during development provided us with invaluable guidance. The piloting sessions have now given us confirmation that our visual concepts have the desired effect – learners can identify with them, but simultaneously find them as inspirational. The psychology that underlies any training intervention is of paramount importance.”
Following the successful piloting, the multimedia package will now be fully populated with learning content. Rollout in the Limpopo province is planned for mid-2009.
This multimedia literacy training project is done in partnership with the Molteno Institute, an NGO that specialises in literacy training, and is funded by the Kellogg Foundation as part of the Bridges to the Future Initiative.
